Site visit, Started Dirt Compaction

October 19, 2017

Contractor was removing the form work under the bridge. Worked on grouting holes and honeycomb areas. Installed the Geotextile Fabric and drain pipe Started Compaction on the south bent Backhoe broke a hose to power steering, will be down the rest of the day.

Site visit, Poured Bent 1 Cap

September 22, 2017

Contractor was ready to pour Bent 1 Cap when I arrived at 9:30. Concrete was an hour and ten minutes late. dispatch had not sent out truck when Joe told them. Concrete arrived at 11:13, I tested the concrete: Slump 1"-3" after adding 20 Gal water, Air 6%, Temp 74° Finished pour at 1:05, Girders are scheduled for Tuesday at 11

Site visit, Roadway & Rip Rap

Contractor continued building roadway, ran into an issue with the southwest corner. Guardrail will not fit when building slopes to keep off landowner. Engineer ask to get another option for different type of guardrail.
